Rules & Regulations (Official Guideline)

The AABPS Student Chapter (Bangladesh) is an academic and professional extension of the American Association of Bangladeshi Pharmaceutical Scientists (AABPS), USA, established to:
Promote pharmaceutical education and research

  • Foster leadership and professional development
  • Connect Bangladeshi pharmacy students with global scientific networks
  • Encourage ethical research and academic excellence
  • Create a pipeline for future AABPS professional members

The Student Chapter is non-governing and non-voting within AABPS-USA.

A recognized university or institution in Bangladesh offering:

  • Pharmacy (B.Pharm / PharmD / M.Pharm)
  • Pharmaceutical Sciences or related programs

may apply to establish an AABPS Student Chapter.

Each participating university must submit a complete committee as part of the application.

  • Mandatory Positions
    • Faculty Advisor
      • Full-time faculty member
      • Acts as academic mentor and liaison
      • Ensures compliance with university and AABPS guidelines
    • Student Chair
      • Senior undergraduate or graduate student
      • Leads chapter activities
    • Student Officers (Minimum 3 Required)
      • Research / Academic / Event Coordinator

Universities may add more student roles if needed, but the minimum requirement must be met.

Each university must submit:

  • A. Committee Information
  • B. Statement of Interest
    • Why the university wishes to join AABPS
    • How the student chapter will enhance:
      • Professional development
      • Research culture
      • Leadership skills
    • Planned activities (seminars, workshops, outreach, etc.)
  • C. Institutional Endorsement
    • Letter or email confirmation from: Department Chair / Dean / Program Director

Student Members

  • Enrolled students of approved chapters
  • Receive a 1-year FREE AABPS student membership
  • Renewable annually upon chapter compliance

Faculty Advisors (Bangladesh)

  • Recognized as AABPS Student Chapter Advisors
  • Serve in academic and mentorship roles only

Important Governance Rule

  • Student Chapters in Bangladesh:
    • Do NOT participate in AABPS-USA voting
    • Do NOT influence AABPS policy decisions
  • All governance, financial, legal, and policy decisions:
    • Are governed by the AABPS by laws
    • Fall under the United States laws and regulations

Allowed Activities

  • Academic seminars and workshops
  • Research presentation events
  • Career development sessions
  • Ethical research training
  • Collaborative events approved by AABPS

Restricted Activities

  • Fundraising in the name of AABPS-USA without approval
  • Political or religious activities
  • Financial commitments on behalf of AABPS

Each Student Chapter must:

  • Submit annual activity report
  • Submit updated officer list yearly
  • Maintain academic and ethical standards
  • Follow branding and logo usage guidelines

Failure to comply may result in:

  • Suspension
  • Revocation of student chapter status

All disputes:

  • Will be resolved under AABPS regulations
  • Governed by United States law

Local disputes should first be handled:

  • At the university level
  • With Faculty Advisor involvement

AABPS reserves the right to:

  • Suspend or dissolve a student chapter if:
    • Guidelines are violated
    • Inactive for over 12 months
    • Misuse of AABPS name or logo occurs
