DESCRIPTION:Webinar Overview: \nThis informative webinar will offer a practical guide to graduate and PhD admissions in pharmaceutical sciences across the United States\, specifically for students from Bangladesh. Dr. Mamoon Rashid will cover application strategies\, academic preparation\, standardized test requirements\, research opportunities\, funding options\, and choosing the right program. The session aims to empower Bangladeshi students with the knowledge and tools to pursue successful academic careers in the U.S. \nLearning Objectives: \nBy the end of the session\, participants will be able to: \n\nUnderstand the overall graduate and PhD admission process in the U.S.\nIdentify key academic and testing requirements (e.g.\, GRE\, TOEFL/IELTS).\nExplore scholarship and funding opportunities for international students.\nLearn how to evaluate and select suitable programs and institutions.\nGain insight into research opportunities and career prospects in pharmaceutical sciences in the U.S.\nUnderstand the timeline and common challenges faced by Bangladeshi applicants.\n\n\nSpeaker Bio: Dr. Mamoon Rashid\nDr. Mamoon Rashid serves as the Director of International Recruitment for Southern Asia at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. He earned both his Bachelor of Pharmacy (2003) and Master’s in Pharmaceutics from the University of Dhaka\, Bangladesh. After working in the pharmaceutical industry and academia in Bangladesh\, he completed his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 2013. Dr. Rashid’s research interests span drug delivery and molecular biology. His PhD research identified the role of the endopeptidase neurolysin in stroke pathology\, presenting it as a potential therapeutic target. His current projects include analytical method development for compounded pharmacy products\, transdermal drug delivery systems\, and drug product stability. In addition to his scientific credentials\, Dr. Rashid holds a 3-year Diploma in Information Technology\, is a Certified Adobe Captivate Specialist\, and enjoys graphic design and educational technologies. \n\n\nWe hope you’ll join us for this insightful and inspiring session.
